Job Description
We are looking for a detail-oriented SFMC QA Specialist to ensure the quality, accuracy, and reliability of marketing campaigns and data flows within Salesforce Marketing Cloud (SFMC). This role focuses on end-to-end QA of campaigns, data integrations, and customer journeys in a complex environment where SFMC is integrated with Salesforce Financial Services Cloud (FSC).
You will work closely with CRM developers, data engineers, and marketers to validate data accuracy, test campaign logic, and troubleshoot issues across the marketing ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities
• End-to-End QA of SFMC Campaigns:
• Test email templates, journeys, automations, and personalization logic within SFMC before launch.
• Validate AMPscript, dynamic content rendering, and segmentation logic across multiple audience groups.
• Data Flow & Integration Testing:
• Perform rigorous testing of data flows between Salesforce FSC and SFMC, including data extensions, contact records, and triggered automations.
• Validate data mapping, synchronization schedules, and field-level accuracy.
• Identify discrepancies in data pipelines and collaborate with data teams to resolve issues.
• Journey & Automation QA:
• Test entry criteria, exit criteria, and journey paths to ensure correct targeting, timing, and personalization.
• Validate triggers for transactional emails, behavioral campaigns, and real-time event-based sends.
• Regression & UAT Testing:
• Maintain test cases and regression test suites for recurring campaigns and workflows.
• Support user acceptance testing (UAT) for new features, integrations, and campaign launches.
• Compliance & Deliverability Testing:
• Ensure campaigns comply with GDPR, CAN-SPAM, and internal policies.
• Validate unsubscribe links, preference centers, and suppression lists.
• QA Documentation & Reporting:
• Document test cases, test results, and defects in a structured format.
• Provide clear reporting on QA findings and collaborate with stakeholders to drive resolution.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration:
• Work closely with SFMC developers, Salesforce FSC admins, data engineers, and marketing teams to ensure smooth campaign execution.
• Act as a quality advocate, ensuring high standards for data integrity and customer experience.
Required Skills & Qualifications
• SFMC Expertise:
• Strong working knowledge of SFMC components including Email Studio, Journey Builder, Automation Studio, and Contact Builder.
• Familiarity with AMPscript and dynamic content setup for testing personalization scenarios.
• Salesforce FSC & Data Knowledge:
• Understanding of Salesforce FSC data model, objects, and integration points with SFMC.
• Experience testing data extensions, synchronized data sources, and complex segmentation rules.
• QA & Testing Skills:
• Proficiency in creating and executing test plans, test cases, and defect tracking.
• Hands-on experience with regression testing, functional testing, and UAT support.
• Familiarity with QA tools like Jira, TestRail, or similar test management software.
• Technical Skills:
• Ability to query data using SQL to validate segmentation and campaign targeting.
• Understanding of HTML email rendering for QA purposes (Litmus, Email on Acid a plus).
• Soft Skills:
• High attention to detail and ability to spot data inconsistencies quickly.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills for cross-team collaboration.
• Preferred Certifications:
• Salesforce Certified Marketing Cloud Email Specialist (or equivalent SFMC experience)
• Salesforce Administrator or Salesforce FSC knowledge is a plus
